Management

Bill Quirk

President, and CEO

Bill Quirk is President and Chief Executive Officer of Maptuit. Mr. Quirk joined Maptuit in 2000 as Chief Financial Officer responsible for Maptuit's finance functions. Prior to joining Maptuit Mr. Quirk spent 10 years at Lotus Development Corporation where he served as Finance Director. Mr. Quirk had various roles including Worldwide sales group, corporate planning, and communication product business unit.

Rick Turek

CTO

Rick Turek leads the development and implementation of Maptuit's algorithms and software. He is an expert in GIS, specifically in the area of high-performance routing. While at Jeppesen Sanderson, he led the development of a client/server system to support a worldwide charting system for commercial and military aircraft. Previously, at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, he developed a commercial product for the spatial management of government assets.

Rick has a BS and MS in Computer Science.

Board of Directors

Jeff Papows
Chairman

Jeff Papows leads Maptuit's Board of Directors, as Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining Maptuit as Chief Executive Officer, Jeff was a President and CEO of Lotus Development Corporation, an IBM Company. During his seven plus years with Lotus and IBM, Jeff piloted the development of Lotus Notes to its current status as the world's leading collaborative platform. He is widely viewed as the key force behind the successful integration of Lotus into IBM.

Jeff authored Enterprise.com: Market Leadership in the Information Age (Perseus Books, 1998). Enterprise.com sold in excess of eighty thousand copies worldwide, was reprinted in the United States and ultimately published in several additional language editions across Europe and Asia.

Jeff holds a PhD in Business Administration, in addition to a BS and MA.

Albert Wenger

Albert Wenger joined Maptuit's Board of Directors in 2004. Albert is a General Partner of Eckford Group where he focuses on investing in business and information services companies in the commercial transportation and financial services industries.

Albert has extensive software and services start-up, operating and investment experience. Prior to Eckford Group, Albert co-founded LC39 Venture Group which made early stage investments in financial services and information services companies. Previously, he was the President of Telebanc Technology Solutions, a subsidiary of Telebanc Financial Corporation (now E*Tradebank), and was the founding CEO of W3Health, a healthcare information services company.

Albert graduated from Harvard College and holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from MIT.

David J.S. Flaschen

David J.S. Flaschen joined the Maptuit Board of Directors in 2003. David has 20 years of executive experience in the information services industry, and is an Operating Partner at Castanea Partners. Prior to joining Castanea, David was a Managing Director at Flagship Ventures, having joined the firm in 2000. Prior to Flagship, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Financial, a billion dollar information services company focused on the financial industry.

Previously, David served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Donnelley Marketing Inc., a venture capital-backed consumer information services firm that was acquired by First Data Corporation. Prior to 1995, he was with Dun and Bradstreet for 10 years including serving as the President of AC Nielsen, North America, a company that provides market research, information and analysis to the consumer products and service industries.  Prior to AC Nielsen, David was at IMS, an information solutions company for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries,  where he was a pioneer in software development outsourcing which led to the founding of Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH).    
David has served as a Director of TripAdvisor (purchased by Interactive Corp, NASDAQ: IACI) and OnExchange (purchased by The Options Clearing Corp). He serves as a Director and Audit Committee Chair of Paychex, Inc. (NASDAQ: PAYX) as well as several privately held companies including Affinity Express, and Affinnova. Previously, David has been an investor, board director and/or advisor to Black Duck, Azima, DebtX, BuyerZone, and e-Dialog. David was a founding investor in the management buyout of Survey Sampling, Inc. (SSI). He is a frequent speaker on Corporate Governance and was cited as one of ten by Corporate Board Member Magazine in “The Next Generation of Directors.”

David has a degree from Brown University and earned an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Between undergraduate and graduate education, David was a professional athlete in the North American Soccer League (NASL). He was a first round draft choice and founding member of the Executive Committee of the NASL Players Association.

Joe Allegra

Joe Allegra joined the Maptuit Board of Directors in 2002. A General Partner of Edison Venture Fund, Joe is a successful entrepreneur and senior software company executive, with experience in business and product strategy, as well as sales and marketing.

Previously, Joe was a co-founder and CEO of Princeton Softech, which he guided to $40M revenue. Joe co-founded the Software Association of New Jersey and was Chairman of the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC). He was also a management consultant for several technology companies.

In addition to the Maptuit Board, Joe serves as a Director at Derivatives Portfolio Management, Archive Systems, JGI, M5 Networks, Portable Internet, VirtualEdge and Voxware.

Joe received a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Rutgers University and an MBA in Information Systems from New York University Stern School of Business.

Bill Strecker

In addition to joining Maptuit Board of Directors in 2005, Bill has also been serving as a Flagship Ventures General Partner since 2000. Prior to Flagship, he served as the Senior Vice President, Technology & Corporate Development and CTO of Compaq Computer Corp. Before that, he was with Digital Equipment Corporation for 28 years in various executive and senior technical positions, most recently as SVP Corporate Strategy & Technology and CTO. Bill is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and has received the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) W.Wallace McDowell Award for outstanding contributions to the Computer Art. He is a past board member of CMGI, holds 16 U.S. patents, and is the author of numerous technical publications. Bill holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Bill currently serves as Director of Flagship portfolio companies IntelliVid, Kovio, Maptuit and SiCortex, and he also works closely with Revivio.

Max Stevens-Guille

Max is the CTO of RAD International Ltd of Toronto, Canada. RAD is an innovative software solutions provider, defining strategies and ensuring that technology investments enable companies to meet their business objectives. At RAD, Max recently led the development of JumpTV's global IPTV system that features 300 channels from 80 countries around the world. Previously, he served as lead architect of the design of a retail banking application for a Top 5 US Bank. Max is also a co-founder of avistago, a startup that has created a compelling digital advertising system that increases sales and delivers measurable results.

Prior to joining RAD, Max was Senior Vice President of Maptuit Corporation, a provider of location-based web services. Before co-founding Maptuit, Max was a management consultant and launched, amongst others, Canadašs largest online retailer, Indigo Books & Music.

Earlier in his career, Max led a number of successful engineering teams. As a principal of dotSoftware, his team aided in the creation of 724 Solutions wireless banking services. As Vice President of Product Development for Visible Decisions, he led the creation of three generations of visualization systems and worked on many financial services and national defense projects.

Max began his career in the Strategic Research group of Alias Research. Max has a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Guelph.
