IntelliOne® and Maptuit to Ease Traveler's Commute in Greater Toronto Area
Combined solution to deliver digital maps embedded with LIVE road speed information and dynamic driving directions around traffic bottlenecks
Atlanta, GA and Burlington, MA; 10, March, 2006 – IntelliOne, the leader in measuring roadway speed from mobile phone networks and reporting traffic LIVE as it occurs, and Maptuit, the leading provider of routing and directions, Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL), location based services (LBS) and digital mapping in North America, today announced they will jointly make available digital maps and driving directions integrated with live traffic content to enhance navigation for individual consumers, fleets and other motorists.
The Companies expect the first commercial deployment of their integrated solution through Web sites of broadcast media companies in the Summer of 2006 in Toronto, Ontario Canada. The sites will feature digital maps displaying LIVE traffic conditions on all major roads and offer traffic-influenced driving directions to visitors. Some Web sites will also offer an enrollment-based commuter alert service, helping daily commuters in metropolitan areas avoid congestion without having to visit a Web site first.
