Maptuit and DriverTech Announce Strategic Alliance to Support New In-Cab Communication Devices

Maptuit’s FleetNav Solution to be Available Through DriverTech’s DT4000

Burlington, MA, October 17, 2005 – Maptuit Corporation, the leading provider of trucking, tracking and traffic services, and DriverTech, a leading provider of hardware and software solutions of onboard computers for the trucking industry, announced today a strategic alliance to offer Maptuit’s flagship FleetNav solution over DriverTech’s DT4000 new in-cab communication device.

In making this announcement, Jeff Papows, President and CEO of Maptuit said “Offering our application and our experience in truck specific directions and fuel optimized routing to truck drivers through DriverTech’s device, begins to close the technology and communication gap that has existed for over 20 years. Working together to bring these combined solutions to market, provides fleets and more importantly the drivers, with fully integrated navigational capabilities and a better overall experience for the drivers, at the same time we are very excited about the opportunity to be piloting this new product with a large North American Fleet ”

This announcement reinforces Maptuit’s strategy to create an improved user experience by providing a real-time solution, graphical maps visible to drivers and text-to-speech capabilities for a safer and better driving experience by taking Maptuit’s technology and combining it with DriverTech’s state of the art technology. The result of this collaboration will be one of the market’s most sophisticated on-board computer solutions available to date.

“Through our partnership with Maptuit, we expect to significantly broaden our reach in the truck fleet market,” said Mark Haslam, DriverTech President and CEO. “Vehicle navigation is fundamental to the continuing growth of in-cab computing for the transportation industry.   Maptuit's software application fulfills customer demands for real-time navigation and routing, and is another of several 'killer applications' that our system enables."

About DriverTech

DriverTech designs and builds the Truck-PC system, which is an open, Windows based, onboard computer system for vehicles.  The DriverTech system provides in-vehicle, computing resources and an intelligent link between the driver and many sources of data communication coming from or to the vehicle such as work assignments, mapping along with GPS information, and engine data.  The DriverTech system is one of the few true 'Tri-Mode' systems (Satellite, Cellular and Wi-Fi) that has the ability to connect these wireless networks simultaneously and then use a least-cost algorithm to automatically route data via the lowest cost communication option.  Thus, users of the DriverTech system are seeing a tenfold decrease in their satellite messaging usage with 98% of messaging going over low-cost cellular or Wi-Fi networks.  Used in both government and commercial applications, the system is built to military specifications and will withstand the heat, cold, moisture, and vibration typical of a vehicle environment.  DriverTech has shown that its system immediately enables fleets to leverage not only many software applications, but also the multitude of lower cost, wireless networks that are available and continually expanding.
