Innovative Online and Mobile Phone Solution Empowers the Owner Operator with Address-to-Address Directions and Routes on Truck Designated Roads
Burlington, MA, March 22, 2005
Maptuit Corporation, the leading provider of trucking, tracking and traffic services, today announced plans to deliver FleetNav Express to the Owner Operator market. FleetNav Express will offer the Owner Operator a powerful online and mobile phone solution to create accurate directions and optimized fuel plans for single-point or multi-point routes on truck-designated roads.
Unlike Maptuit's FleetNav, a fleet routing and management solution designed for enterprise use offering full integration into all leading dispatch and mobile communications systems, FleetNav Express is a pay-per-use navigational aid that asks drivers to type in the points of origin to the final destination in order to receive directions and routes.
"With over 200,000 Owner Operators driving along the road network in North America, we realize there are some very specialized needs and concerns when it comes to developing intelligent directions and routes for this market," stated Jeff Papows, CEO of Maptuit. "FleetNav Express allows us to extend our powerful technology into a growing market segment, helping Owner Operators navigate from point A to point B in the safest, most cost efficient means."
"Owner Operators are now able to benefit from the many engineering years we have invested in building Maptuit's FleetNav," stated Rick Turek, CTO of Maptuit. "The key capabilities that America's premiere fleets have been utilizing, will now be available through FleetNav Express, delivering a "navigational companion on the road” for the professional driver - providing the best maps, directions routes and fuel plans specifically designed for the Owner Operator."
FleetNav Express will be available later this year through Maptuit's website offering Owner Operators an innovative solution to create accurate directions and routes that will take them from their load origination to the final destination using truck designated roads. Through FleetNav Express, drivers will be able to create single point or multi-point routes through the use of an internet connection or mobile phone. Once the driver has typed in the load origin and the stops along the way, FleetNav Express will return a direction set and map to the driver in a printer-friendly format or to their mobile phone. Drivers will be able to reap the benefits from the savings they can realize by using FleetNav Express' optimized fuel plans, and least-cost truck-friendly routes.
