Maptuit's FleetNav™ 3.5 Helps Trucking Companies Control Toll Costs
Maptuit's Release 3.5 Offers Advanced Toll Data and Expanded Coverage of North American Road Network

Burlington, Mass. May 18, 2004

Maptuit® Corporation, a provider of transportation optimization solutions for the trucking industry, today announced the release of FleetNav™ 3.5. With enhancements to toll location and cost data, along with expanded coverage of the North American road network, FleetNav 3.5 is providing the trucking industry with the most cost-effective and safest routes for the heavy truck.

“Maptuit's engineering team is focused on developing the most comprehensive solution to help drivers navigate safely and cost effectively along the North American road network,” stated Rick Turek, CTO of Maptuit. “With the newest release of FleetNav 3.5, we are providing trucking companies with numerous advancements to our core service to help them control toll costs and increase the driver safety.”

The new release of FleetNav 3.5 includes:
Improved toll location and cost data of over 16,000 toll roads
In-depth road coverage of metropolitan areas within the U.S.
Expanded coverage of the Canadian road network
Continued enhancements to truck prohibitions and restrictions
Advanced urban routing model
Enhanced geocoding

With the FleetNav 3.5 release, trucking companies are able to leverage improvements made to the toll location and cost data to help control all costs associated with each route with increased accuracy. By calculating the difference in total costs associated with a toll road versus a non-toll road that might include additional miles, FleetNav determines the most cost-effective route for each driver.

FleetNav 3.5 has enhanced its coverage of the road network throughout all of North America to include data from newly measured roads within metropolitan areas in the U.S and over 1.5 million kilometres of the Canadian road network. This data is supplemented with truck-specific attributes such as prohibitions and restrictions, to ensure all routes are tailored to the specialized needs of the heavy truck.

Additional improvements to the newest release of FleetNav includes a sophisticated urban routing model to provide in-city routes specific to the needs of the 53 foot trailer, and enhancements made to FleetNav's geocoding in a continual effort to provide the most accurate directions from a driver's current location to their next stop.

Maptuit's FleetNav Suite of tools provides trucking companies with a solution to help increase efficiencies and improve their bottom line through intelligent routing, fuel optimization and fleet monitoring capabilities. These tools enable back-office staff to manage customer locations and monitor fleet performance from any computer with Internet access. It is a subscription-based solution that integrates with all leading fleet management and mobile communications systems to provide a comprehensive transportation optimization solution.
